Born 1947 Sonny was commissioned by a Singapore  owned company  in 1976 to set up a rigging company in Aberdeen Scotland to service the North Sea oil & gas industry. In early 1981 he returned to Singapore and continued to work till end 1985. In 1986 Sonny was head hunted by a new Australian company set up in Singapore to market life-saving appliances for Asia Pacific region as marketing director. In 1994  the company was acquired by a Norwegian UMOE Schat Harding. Sonny continued until 1998 when he was made the managing director . Between 1998 to 2012 he was responsible for the operating one of the biggest and most successful lifeboat service company within the Harding group with more than 35 service engineers. Sonny retired at the age of 65 in 2012 citing too much travelling as the main reason. Though fully retired Sonny still offers his expertise whenever he is asked.
